AP IMPACT: Underground FEMA fuel tanks could leak (AP)

At least 150 federally owned underground fuel tanks all over the country need to be inspected for leaks of hazardous substances that could be making water undrinkable, according to Associated Press interviews and research. The government has known about the problem with Cold War-era tanks in nearly every state at least the 1990s, but action has been slow.
